Master thesis opportunity in Social Sustainability (June 13, 2011)

We are looking for a student interested in doing a master thesis in the field of Social Sustainability, or more specifically in Social life cycle assessment (s-LCA). s-LCA is a method under development, with the aim to assess social impacts throughout the life cycle of a product or service. Social aspects considered include e.g. child labour, corruption, health and safety, local employment and cultural heritage. There are several areas where the method needs further development. The master thesis would contribute to the evaluation and development of this tool, and the specific scope will be defined in collaboration between the student and the supervisor. Interesting areas include the evaluation and definition of relevant social impact sub-categories and their respective indicators to be measured; identifying impact pathways between the indicators and the subcategories. Contact Elisabeth Ekener Petersen at 08-7908506,, or Åsa Moberg at 08-790 8514, if your interested.
